After we have poisoned all the rivers,
Will we then only drink oil?
When we have caught the last fish,
Will we only eat diamonds?
When all the plants have wilted,
Will we then only sow rubies?
When we can no longer breath our polluted air,
Then shall we only breathe perfume?
When the flowers have all gone,
Shall we only smell war?
When the sun no longer flies
And the moon no longer glows,
What value will our eyes have?
When the birds no longer fly
And the mammals no longer walk,
Shall we then eat money?
Perhaps, what’s important is not
What we want
But what we have.
